Adult Faith Formation Opportunities

The Adult Faith Formation Committee is comprised of parishioners from both St. Joseph and St. John Neumann parishes. Its goal is to provide engaging programs and speakers that bring our parishioners together to participate in religious experiences and faith sharing as a large Christian Community. St. Joseph Parish Summer Book Club
The Stone Angel is a novel by the Canadian writer Margaret Laurence. First published in 1964, it is perhaps the best-known of Laurence's novels set in the fictitious town of Manawaka, Manitoba. The Stone Angel tells the story of Hagar Currie Shipley. In the present, 90-year-old Hagar struggles against being put in a nursing home, which she sees as a symbol of death. The story switches with Hagar looking back at her life. 

Jean Margaret Laurence (nee Wemyss; July 18, 1926-January 5, 1987) is one of the major figures in Canadian literature. The Stone Angel is consistently listed as one of the greatest Canadian novels ever written. 

Join Fr Greg Olszewski on Mondays June 2, 9 and 16 at 7:00pm to examine this significant work. We will meet either in the HFC, the church or the Courtyard (you will know when you arrive!).
